Cook II - The St. Regis Aruba Resort

About the role

The St. Regis Aruba Resort is hiring a Cook II. The role covers preparing ingredients, cooking food to recipe and quality standards, and keeping the kitchen and dining area clean and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping and storing food, and wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure and mix ingredients, and prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and a food preparation checklist.
• Prepare cold foods and operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Test foods to make sure they are cooked sufficiently and monitor food quality while preparing food.
• Set up and break down the workstation, and serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles.
• Wash and disinfect the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives and equipment, and check that appliance and food temperatures are correct.
• Follow company and safety and security policies, report maintenance needs, accidents and injuries, complete safety training and certifications, and keep proprietary information confidential.
• Work in a clean, professional uniform, stand, sit or walk for long periods, lift objects up to 25 pounds, and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No license or certification required.
