Project Manager MVW - Aruba Ocean Club & Surf Club

About the role

Marriott is looking for a Project Manager for its two Aruba properties, Marriott's Aruba Ocean Club and Marriott's Aruba Surf Club. The role covers all engineering and maintenance operations, including the building, grounds and physical plant, with particular attention to safety, security and asset protection. It also includes managing the budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance, energy conservation and regulatory compliance, and leading the emergency response team.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise Engineering in the absence of the Director of Engineering and oversee day-to-day operations
• Manage the physical plant, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical and life safety systems
• Maintain and operate equipment at optimum effectiveness, efficiency and safety, and run an effective rooms maintenance program
• Manage controllable expenses to meet or exceed budgeted goals, and select, order and purchase equipment, supplies and furnishings
• Inspect facilities, recommend repairs, renovations and replacements, and help set priorities for maintenance needs
• Plan, schedule and evaluate preventative maintenance programs and keep accurate logs and records
• Handle guest problems and complaints, and empower staff to deliver excellent customer service
• Manage human resources activities: recognize team contributions, treat employees fairly, give feedback, review satisfaction results, and ensure disciplinary procedures follow SOPs and LSOPs
• Ensure regulatory compliance with facility regulations and safety standards, and lead the emergency response team

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, or a 2-year degree in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics or a related major
• 4 years of experience in engineering and maintenance or a related field, or 2 years with a degree
• Technical training in HVAC-R, electrical and plumbing
