Cook II - Campeones

About the role

Marriott's Aruba Ocean Club in Aruba is hiring a Cook II for its Campeones restaurant. The cook prepares food according to recipes, quality standards and presentation standards, and works within the kitchen team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping and storing food, and wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure and mix ingredients, and prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and a food preparation checklist.
• Prepare cold foods and operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Test foods to make sure they are cooked sufficiently and monitor food quality while preparing food.
• Set up and break down the workstation, and serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles.
• Wash and disinfect the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives and equipment, and check that appliance and food temperatures are correct.
• Follow company and safety and security policies, report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to the manager, complete safety training and certifications, and keep proprietary information confidential.
• Stand, sit or walk for long periods, reach overhead and below the knees, and lift objects of up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to develop positive working relationships, speak clearly and professionally, and support the team.
