Loss Prevention Attendant - Aruba Marriott Resort

About the role

The Aruba Marriott Resort is looking for a Loss Prevention Attendant to investigate and handle theft, fraud, lost items, noise complaints, assault complaints, food poisoning complaints and other guest complaints and incidents. The role also covers handling business interruptions, civil disturbances and other incidents, while following company safety and security policies.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate theft, fraud, lost items and other incidents, gathering evidence and interviewing relevant parties to obtain statements.
• Assist with and notify the manager or supervisor, local police or other authorities in the event of accidents, attacks or other incidents.
• Complete incident reports documenting theft, accidents, physical hazards, fire alarms and other security-related incidents.
• Handle business interruptions and complaints such as suspicious individuals, civil disturbances, demonstrations, noise complaints and intoxicated individuals.
• Escort unwelcome persons from the property without disrupting operations, and defuse guest or employee disturbances, including summoning authorities when necessary.
• Follow company and safety and security policies, report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions, and protect company assets.
• Welcome guests according to company standards, speak clearly and professionally, and use computers and point-of-sale systems to enter and locate work information.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No related work experience or supervisory experience required.
• No license or certification required; some states may have additional licensing or registration requirements.

Required skills

• Able to read and visually verify information in various formats, including small print.
• Able to move quickly, stand, sit or walk for long periods, and lift objects up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Able to move through narrow, confined or elevated spaces and over uneven or slippery surfaces.
