Accounting, Compliance & Reporting Staff (Aruba)

About the role

EY is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Accounting, Compliance & Reporting Staff member to join its team in Aruba. You will work with clients to provide financial reporting and support, keeping financial data accurate and helping clients' organisations stay financially healthy.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a key point of contact for clients on financial reporting and accounting queries, building strong relationships to understand their needs.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in line with accounting standards and regulations.
• Help clients prepare budgets, forecasts and financial plans, giving insights and recommendations.
• Monitor and analyse clients' financial performance, spotting trends, variances and areas for improvement.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end closing, including reconciliations and adjustments.
• Work with cross-functional teams to support clients' financial decisions and strategy.
• Help design and implement internal controls and financial policies to protect client assets.
• Support audits by providing documentation and answering auditor questions on behalf of clients.
• Keep up with changes in accounting regulations and best practice to improve reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; a professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA, ACCA) is a plus.
• Experience in accounting, compilation, controlling or financial reporting, preferably in a professional services environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations and reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication in Dutch, English and Papiamentu and the ability to build client relationships.
• Able to handle several tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Caseware Cloud is an advantage.
