Assistant Manager, Accounting, Compliance & Reporting – Aruba

About the role

EY is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Assistant Manager of Accounting, Compliance & Reporting to join its team in Aruba. You will work closely with clients and senior team members to deliver accurate financial reporting, take ownership of your own client portfolio and start guiding and coaching more junior colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Act as day-to-day contact for clients on financial reporting and accounting matters, building strong relationships and escalating complex issues to the engagement manager.
• Prepare and review financial statements and reports in line with accounting standards and regulations.
• Support clients with budgets, forecasts and financial plans, and analyse their financial performance to spot trends, variances and risks.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end closing, including reconciliations and adjustments.
• Help design and roll out internal controls and financial policies for clients.
• Support audits by preparing documentation and answering auditor inquiries on behalf of clients.
• Coach and review the work of junior team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; progress toward a professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA, ACCA) is a plus.
• Solid experience in accounting, compilation, controlling or financial reporting, preferably in a professional services environment.
• First experience in guiding or reviewing the work of others.
• Strong communication skills in Dutch, English and Papiamento.

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations and reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; Caseware Cloud is an advantage.
• Analytical skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
